How I Use Voice AI in 2026 (Tools + Use Cases for Marketers)
Catherine Toms
AI Expert | Educator | Consultant
Voice is the most underutilised element of AI right now. You speak faster than you type, you think better out loud, and AI is finally good enough to keep up.
Here’s why voice is about to change how we work- and how to get started to make the most of it.
What we will cover:
In this blog, we’ll explore the rise of Voice AI and how you can use it to overcome the ‘typing bottleneck’ to brainstorm, create content, and work more naturally.. Here’s a quick overview of what’s included:
What Changed? Why Voice AI Is Exploding in 2026
Let’s unpack what changed – and why voice suddenly got way more useful.
In 2025, breakthroughs in three key technical areas took us from “Hey Siri, set a timer” to full strategic conversations.
- Natural language processing: AI models got better at understanding of nuance, semantics, context, and flow.
- Speech recognition: More accurate, real-time transcription with less lag
- Generative AI: Smarter, more responsive models that get what you mean, not just what you said – and remember it.
As Alexander Embiricos at OpenAI put it: “The current underappreciated limiting factor to AI productivity isn’t model capability – it’s human typing speed.”
Typing has been a big bottleneck that voice removes.
6 Ways to Use Voice AI in Your Marketing Workflow:
Over the past year, I’ve shifted much of my AI interaction to voice – and the results are always significantly better. Here’s a few places where it shines:
1. Brainstorm and Plan Strategy
I use voice as my planning-partner for everything from webinars to content strategies. Talking things through helps me organise my thoughts and shape ideas faster. I interrupt myself constantly and AI keeps up, tracks the flow, and I get a transcript to review later.
2.Organise Thoughts and Structure
Got a messy idea? I voice dump the whole spaghetti scramble then say: “Turn that into a logical flow” or “How does this come across?” “What’s missing here?” AI cleans up my tangled brain dumps without needing me to type anything first.
3. Draft Content Faster
I dictate blogs, emails, outlines – anything that needs writing. I’ve drafted entire blog posts on my way home from meetings or school drop off! It’s not perfect, but it’s 80% done fast and a great draft to polish when you’re back online.
- Capture Your Natural Voice
When I talk, it sounds like me. My voice, tone, sentence rhythm and quirky words. And because it’s brilliant at mimicking? Voice-to-text copy finally creates drafts that sound like me – because it came unfiltered directly from my brain.
5. Capturing Tasks
Shower thoughts, things that pop into your head mid-commute – voice helps me capture them all. I just talk into my phone and get instant to-do lists. No more 437 open-tabs floating around in my brain waiting to be forgotten.
6. Creative Thinking
One of my favourite TED Talks is by Marily Oppezzo: Want to be more creative? Go for a walk
The research tells us walking helps generate new ideas by getting your brain out of autopilot. Movement is linked to better decision-making and clarity.
With voice AI, you can talk and walk (or go to the gym, cook dinner, take a break) no more stuck waiting for inspiration at your desk.
We use this in our training, too – kicking participants out of the room to walk and voice-prompt their ideas. Thinking always gets better after they move!
How to Get Started With Voice AI
Start small. Next time you’re about to write a long prompt, try talking it out instead.
Voice Features in ChatGPT, Claude, and Copilot
Use the built-in AI voice mode (usually better on mobile app than desktop)
- ChatGPT – Hit the microphone icon
- Claude – Voice feature in the app
- Copilot – Built-in voice mode
Standalone transcription tools:
- Wispr Flow – High-quality transcription across apps
- Otter – Solid for live meetings, transcription and notes

Voice AI Glossary
Voice AI
Technology that allows you to interact with AI tools using spoken language. Combines speech recognition, natural language processing, and generative AI.
Voice-to-Text (Speech-to-Text)
The process of transcribing spoken words into written text. Used for dictation, note-taking, and drafting content by voice.
Voice Cloning
AI-generated replication of someone’s voice. Not covered in this article, but growing in use for personalisation, audio content, and accessibility.
Voice Prompting
Giving instructions or asking questions verbally instead of typing. Useful for brainstorming, strategy, and hands-free content creation.
Conversational AI
AI systems that understand and respond in a dialogue-like way, maintaining context across turns – whether typed or spoken.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Why is voice AI becoming more popular in 2026?
Three technical breakthroughs made it possible: natural language processing now understands nuance and context, speech recognition transcribes accurately in real-time, and generative AI models remember conversations and respond intelligently. You can now have full strategic conversations with AI, not just give simple commands.
What can I actually do with voice AI for marketing?
Brainstorm content strategies while walking, dictate blog posts and emails on the move, organise messy thoughts into logical flows, capture ideas hands-free, and create copy that sounds like you because it’s transcribed directly from how you naturally speak. Voice removes the typing bottleneck.
Does voice AI really improve the quality of outputs?
Yes. Speaking captures how you actually think and your natural tone, rhythm, and word choice. Voice AI mimics brilliantly, so transcribed content sounds more like you than typed prompts ever could. Plus, you think better out loud and can brainstorm while moving instead of being stuck at your desk.
Do you offer training on voice AI?
Yes. We cover voice workflows, strategy, and prompting in our AI Marketing Accelerator and team training programs
